This time it’s forever

Finally saw Black Panther: Wakanda Forever earlier this past week.  While it’s a very well-made movie (and a very poignant tribute to the life of Chadwick Boseman), albeit quite a long one, I can’t help but feel unsatisfied walking away after it was over.  I can’t quite put my finger on it. 🤔🤔🤔

Maybe I shouldn’t have paid attention to the news regarding one of its lead stars during the filming of the movie.  It may have soured my opinion of them (and impacted my enjoyment of the movie by extension).

Anyway, this movie just made it really obvious that Chadwick Boseman is Black Panther, and it’s difficult to let go of the reality that he is gone.  Ryan Coogler did a good job with rewriting the story for this movie after Chadwick’s death.  That little seed they planted right at the end offers a glimmer of hope, though it probably won’t be ready to come to fruition for at least another ten years.  But, hey, anything is possible in the MCU, right?
