We went out to have some Boxing Day brunch today. We wanted to try Pür & Simple because we’ve been meaning to for a while, and we heard good things. When we got there, we were told there was going to be a 25-minute wait. Even though we could clearly see multiple empty tables that were fully bussed/cleaned. :-/ We didn’t feel like arguing so we just skedaddled and splurged on brunch someplace else. Pür & Simple would have totally scored on us because not only do we order the good stuff (I only drink sparkling water now, thank you very much) and tip well, but we also eat fast. We would have been out of there within 25 minutes! Your loss, Pür & Simple.
I’m still trying to understand why the hostess in charge of seating guests essentially told us to fuck off and go eat somewhere else.
Is it because we didn’t look like we would be spending a lot? We certainly looked very laid back in our hoodies and jeans.
Or do they have a strict policy of not seating two people or less at a table for four?
I don’t think it was about being fully booked, because she didn’t ask us if we had any reservations for a table.
Whatever. I don’t intend to find out because I will probably not ever try having brunch there again.
What do you think?
