Honestly, guys.  This whole Jason Aldean thang… mountain out of molehill.  Much ado about nothing, heney.

It’s not like he’s specifically saying “Hey, lynching’s cool, let’s bring it back.”  It’s art.  He is expressing his point of view and pride in coming from a small town.  Can’t he do that?  Just let him do that.  Let the rednecks and right wing nut jobs enjoy his song.  They’re allowed.

At the end of the day, it should be capitalism that informs whether or not Jason Aldean should keep making songs like this.  The patronage (sales, streaming points) will be the proof in the pudding.  If he sees that writing this type of song is bad for his bottom line, he’ll quit doing it and move on to something else.

The media fanning the flame by reporting on it ad nauseam is only raising the profile of the song.  You’re contributing to the problem, you guys!  Just stop it already.
