If shit, then fuck that

With Twitter imploding and its troll owner mistakenly thinking the way to fix it is to charge its users, the main drivers of value to the site, everything that touches Twitter or is touched by Twitter is now also facing no options but to charge users of their Twitter-related services as well.

The latest one to do it is IFTTT, which I had been using for a number of years now to automate some stuff.  I just found out that all the applets that I had been running on their service had been turned off because they all hit up the Twitter API.

I have to say I am more and more inclined these days to just abandon all my Internet hobbies and completely unplug from social media.  Like, I am not going to pay up $60 a year just to be able to send out one measly tweet every day.  If I were the New York Times, then it’s a different story.  But I’m just a lowly personal user.

Sigh.

What used to be fun is now all gone.  It’s all just bullshit now, and I’m over it.  Burn it all down for all I care.  The Internet sucks now.
